AZGIRATH THE METAL WRAITH (PROJECT)
I am Azgirath. The First Metal Wraith Worldwide. This project started on the streets (2021) with my artist name (Azgirath), and Metal was the main inspiration behind this. Later I also added a title for myself because of the intense experience that I had in the past. In 2023 this project finally moved into the Metal Scene and was no longer seen in public. From the Street to the Concert Stage. From a Statue into a Wraith. A Silent Guardian in the Scene. The Metal Wraith.
From the Street to Concert Stage
My Performance is about silence, time, and death. Honoring Extreme Metal through endurance and presence. It's the performance of a silent guardian. Entering this role meant facing uncertainty, resistance, and personal struggle. It places me within the metal scene not only as an artist, but as a symbol, standing for freedom, courage, and expression. The reason why I performed in public in the first place was because to get the full experience in art and finally coming into the Metal Scene in a very unusual way. My Performance means pain and not being comfortable. Pain is powerful because it's natural and inspiring. I have found my own path, my own story, my own stage. I'm The Metal Wraith.
Honoring Extreme Metal (Performance Art)
Extreme Metal started in the early 80s from bands like Venom, Celtic Frost, Bathory, Mayhem, and I was inspired by this genre to create something for the Scene as well. It might be paradox for some because this is not about music or being in a band, it's about Silence. Honoring Extreme Metal through Endurance and Presence. I created this project because the scene should get the opportunity to see Metal in a different way and to realize it's more than the Music.

Ring Metal is a performance inspired by the aesthetics, philosophy, and spirit of Extreme Metal. In this performance, the artist stands for hours in silence, embodying the archetype of Death.
(There was no name or definition of this performance at the beginning. Most of my work was subconsciously done through inspiration and experience. This name Ring Metal or Durational Metal was found years later. It's a Performance Art. No Music Genre.)
Attention: This Performance has a coordinated schedule (Balanced Work-Rest Cycles). Don't do this performance without breaks. Otherwise you could risk some serious health problems. Performing almost motionless can be very painful for the human body. It is important having breaks. It's more safe and balanced. With structured breaks, you'll get hours of performance anyway. You should take any time a break, especially if you're body is struggling.
